A splendid victory for Lorenzo at San Marino

Description:
Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing) won his third victory at Misano this season and twenty-five very important points for the Championship as they allow the Spaniard to return to thirty-five points of Casey Stoner (Repsol Honda) in the general classification.
Lorenzo, who had never won at Misano in MotoGP, has made a perfect start from the second position and grabbed the top spot in the first corner and then keeping it until the finish line.
Stoner, however, long remained in the wheel of the Spaniard, with Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) firmly entrenched in third place, while Andrea Dovizioso (Repsol Honda), Ben Spies (Yamaha Factory Racing), Valentino Rossi (Ducati) who had a very good start from the eleventh position and Marco Simoncelli (San Carlo Honda Gresini) were quickly outpaced by the top three.
Lorenzo has gradually widened the gap on Stoner and Pedrosa and never showed any sign of weakness, to reach the finish with more than seven seconds ahead of Pedrosa, who was much faster than Stoner on final laps.
While isolated Rossi finished in seventh place, Simoncelli, Dovizioso and Spies fought for fourth place until the end and it is the rider San Carlo Honda Gresini who got hold, ahead of compatriot and the American pilot.
Alvaro Bautista (Rizla Suzuki) has meanwhile taken the eighth place, ahead of Hector Barbera (Mapfre Aspar) and Cal Crutchlow (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) who completed the top 10.
Randy de Puniet (Pramac Racing) finished fourteenth, behind Hiroshi Aoyama (San Carlo Honda Gresini), Karel Abraham (Cardion Motoracing ab) and Colin Edwards (Tech 3 Yamaha Monster), while team-mate Loris Capirossi was forced to pit to give up after a first stop. Nicky Hayden (Ducati) also dropped, following its fall early in the race.
