We start in the “Lake City” Nettetal, right in the heart of the park located and marked by the moist and wooded river valley of the river Nette and embedded therein twelve lakes. Small, narrow, streets and ancient alleys lead us along the Krickenbecker, De Witt and Breyeller lake to Holt Mill a water mill about 300 years with a lovely pond. Approximately one kilometer we follow the paved road, passing by a winding, downhill section leading the Molz and Tuschenbroicher mill and wind forward to the little village street through the village Schwaam with its unique thatched half-timbered houses. Shortly after Wassenberg we reached Holland.

Orphaned barriers reminiscent of a boundary that there is not a long time. In Vlodrop on a quaint farm once fashionable coffee break and “Little King Tiger” demand their right .

On Sint Odilienberg “At the Roer” (Eng. Rur) with its imposing hilltop Basilica on a swing, we slowly went to the bishop city located in Roermond in the heart of Central Limburg. A city with a rich history stately old mansions and magnificent churches. Unconfirmed rumors are here, however, motor scooters and motorcycles disappear faster than you can watch. So we do quite easily on a tour of the historic city core. We cross the Meuse which here make their way through a 3,000-acre expanse of water – paves – the damage caused by Auskiesung Maasplassen. On both banks of the river, nestled in lush greenery, colorful stretches a chain of picturesque villages, its medieval cores invite you to linger. We follow on tiny, almost non-winding road to the river course. Remember traveling castles, chapels and wayside crosses in a unique nature, in the Galloway cattle and Konik ponies graze in the past and of the dike crowns arise again and again Maas magnificent panoramas. The sight of the picturesque village of Steyl monastery across the river is impressive.

At this point an important note: you must bring to the Lower Rhine motorcycle tour not only because of the beautiful scenery a little more time, but all the many 30s and 60s zones (! Outside of places) to “decelerate” and rediscovery contribute to the slowness. In addition basic knowledge of Dutch language is helpful. So you would have to cover the importance of the billboard, “Let op! Drempels know “which is abundant in the landscape. Jamb (also dt: Krefeld / Berlin pillows, plates Cologne, sleeping policeman, bumps, circular segment threshold Polterrampe, bumps, hills and Delft Holperschwelle respectively) are the speed bumps in the middle of the road. By them when driving causing shock to car, motorcycle – move and scooter riders to reduce the speed and accelerate compliance with speed limits – and do those things too!

Buggenum is another ancient site which offers very nice houses, especially along the Dorpstraat. Through the trees and across the Meuse can see the huge complex of the “Maas Centrale”, a hydroelectric plant.
Baarlo the village of the five castles (hence “Kastelendorp”), and leave us “Mooder Maas” (as the Limburg river affectionately called) and the Meuse valley and reached shortly, “De Groote Peel”, a picturesque, watery landscape impenetrable bogs (Peel), ponds, open heathland, forests and sand dunes and some sleepy little village which include Griendtsveen. The listed village is characterized by its small drawbridges, its characteristic houses and straight from Peelkanale. During the period in which the De Peel region has developed, these channels were used to transport the bog peat tapped. Now extend on both sides of the channels narrow lanes that are connected with a series of bridges.

Of course we also need to Overloon, where there is supposedly the best ice cream in the entire Netherlands.

Blitterswijk, picturesque villages and Broekhuis Broekhuisenvorst with its pavement of pebbles and the Mass Lottum Rose Village, the center of the rose-growing in the Netherlands are the next stages of our small motorcycle tour the Lower Rhine. Here we come again to the wide and quiet meandering Meuse and set about on a small ferry to the other shore. At Arcen – a particularly idyllic and popular tourist destination on the Maas – passing through the vast territory of Maasduinen (sand dunes, which are still recognizable in today’s landscape relief), we arrive back home soil. No jamb, no more 60 zones – wonderful! Opportunity to play once more to do with the gas hand before we reach back tired but happy Nettetal.
