Test Held Ridge Sokudo: small but effective

Test Held Ridge Sokudo

Security feature in its own right, the ridge is meant more and more technical while trying to avoid the appearance armor, unpleasant day. Held understands the concept in 2010 and unveils its Sokudo, Caradisiac Moto makes the test .

O n label: “B” for Back, certified EN 1621-2 (back protector) Level 2 (force transmitted less than 18kN (Kilo Newton)) and symbol of the biker … everything is there, is not the Sokudo a substitute for protection but rather a back worthy of the name.

Very delicate
High density PU foam, the Held is divided into three parts along the length and width.

In appearance rather monoplaque articulated vertebrae without tails, Held firewall protection, front side a fiber fabric and hypoallergenic ventilated type Outlast in contact with the back.

Flexible, it offers mobility to the front and back but no flexibility is allowed for lateral transfers, however, very useful in a hurry. To best adapt to the morphology of the pilot, the German manufacturer offers five sizes from S (52 x 32 cm) 2XL (62 x 37 cm). For me, a size M (57 x 34 cm) will be the best for my body type.

Weighed, measured, the back test appears slightly by finishing in the lower standard with 605 grams checked.

It is also very compact with a maximum thickness of 3 cm.

Good measurements as its minimalist help threading the rest of your equipment and allow it to be forgotten immediately as a combination or a jacket even bent.

Fine (remember, the thickness is not synonymous with protection) but still fairly opaque, low enough down the ridge on the spine (cervical range of the coccyx) even if a back area a little larger would have more disseminate the wave impact. Once in position, it does not bother any movements of your head or helmet does limit you in your movements by providing protection of the shoulder blades more than adequate.

Two adjustable elastic straps enough for the top and scratch off a good length for size are responsible for proper maintenance of backbone .

Only a tightening at the sternum is missing for a position beyond a doubt.

Easy to adjust Sokudo has finished out of any claim with the added comfort go well even if the manufacturer has not seen fit to put on his suspenders ball.
