Honda to earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan

The employees of Honda Germany GmbH express their deepest sympathy to all of the earthquakes in Japan and its consequences from concerned people. The quake on Friday, a colleague of the research and development department, Honda R & D Co. Ltd. in Tochigi Prefecture was killed, 34 people were injured.
In support of the national rescue efforts, the Honda Motor Corporation decided that:
- From Monday 14 March will, until further notice, all production activities in the works Sayama, Ogawa, Tochigi, Hamamatsu, and Suzuka.
- Of 15 to 20 March, suspended production at Kumamoto.
- Of 14 to 20 March, interrupted the scheduled operation in all Honda plants in the region, Tochigi, where there has been major damage (Tochigi Factory, Honda R & D Co., Ltd.. Automobile R & D Center (Tochigi), Honda Engineering Co., LTD. etc.). The focus is now on the recovery of each installation. The Honda employees are exempted for that period.
Honda provides tools
In the hope of contributing to a possible structure of the affected areas as quickly as to be able to Honda is ready the following tools:
- Donations amounting to 300 million yen.
- 1000 gasoline and gas-fired generators and 5,000 gas canisters. Employees of Honda will present the use of donated generators.
Honda supports the Government’s efforts to save energy and contribute to an imminent blackout contrary. The focus is the rescue of the affected regions. Honda will analyze the current situation continuously and derive the appropriate measures.
