Leather types: predominantly cortical (partial-cut split leather), goat (in some areas), kangaroo (for sports boots)
Strengths: 1.5 to 1.7 millimeters (light sport boots), 1.9 to 2.5 millimeters (Tours),
2.5 to 3.5 millimeters (off)
Origin: Top quality from Europe (especially Germany, Italy), medium and low grades mostly from Asia (China, Pakistan)
Confection: Europe and Asia
