As you might have guessed from the title, the 2012 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing is just another evolution of the hugely successful and popular Japanese GT bike. When something is working so good for such a long time, there is no need to change much. And that’s exactly what Honda did. Keeping the same formula for 640,000 units so far (production stated im 1975), the latest Gold Wing received updated aesthetics, with the majority of changes happening in the control on-board electronics.

The most interesting one is the new satellite navigation system programmable and accessible online via computer, to share routes with friends and other bikers.

A new MP3/iPod interface, designed for the new SRS CS Auto surround sound system, gives more power and quality to the sound coming from speakers located near the center console and adjacent to the seat of the passenger. The drivetrain is unchanged, and it’s still represented by the solid and refined six-cylinder boxer engine. The only change in the chassis is the new diameter for front suspension forks – 45mm.

On the aesthetics side, the new bike is trying to connect with the last Gold Wing and other models of Honda range, with the gray sides, trying to emulate the double layer hull of the VFR1200F. There is a new integrated tail light while storage space have been increases with new saddle bags and top case, but the comfort for both driver and passenger remained as a reference.
